In addition to Key Note Speakers Rosalie Ham and Sue Maslin, and Special Guest Speaker Dame Marie Bashir, Gathering attendees will hear from a host of other influential women from across regional NSW.
The Hon Bronnie (Bronwyn) Taylor MLC
The Hon Bronnie (Bronwyn) Taylor will officially open the 2017 NSW Rural Women’s Gathering at Narrandera. Bronnie studied nursing at the University of Sydney and developed specialties in the fields of both palliative care and oncology; she worked for NSW Health until June 2014. Bronnie was elected to Cooma-Monaro Shire Council in 2010 and became Deputy Mayor in 2011. She was elected a Member of the NSW Legislative Council in the 2015 State Election. In August 2016 Bronnie was appointed to the position of Parliamentary Secretary for Southern NSW and Regional Communications.

Our committee is pleased to announce that we will be partnering with local artist led organisation The Cad Factory on the opening night of the 2017 NSW Rural Women’s Gathering, showcasing the Cad Factory’s open-air artwork Shadow Places.
26 – 29 October
Discussion Evening: Thursday 26 October
Rural Women’s Gathering Opening Event: Friday 27 October
Open to the Public: Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 October
Shadow Places is a large-scale artwork in the Narrandera landscape that features 20 video projections onto round hay bales, with sound and accompanying textile installations. The artwork is informed by the writings of Australian environmental philosopher Val Plumwood, and explores our human and non-human histories.
The Cad Factory is an artist led organisation based in Sandigo NSW, creating an international program of new, immersive and experimental work guided by authentic exchange, ethical principles, people and place. Visit their website.
